Fellow Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers,

I hope you and your family had a fun and safe Fourth of July holiday weekend. It's the perfect time for food, fireworks, and reflection on how blessed we are to live in this country. Thank you for protecting our nation and our freedoms.

My wife Lauren and I celebrated with our family and friends in DuPont. We participated in the Hometown Parade and had a wonderful day at the festivities. The historic district has so much character and charm - it was a great Fourth with great company.

Vets Deserve Local Support

I have been fortunate to meet and work with amazing veterans. However, many share the belief we can and should do more to help transitioning and retired servicemembers, especially right here in Pierce County. Joint Base Lewis-McChord is an incredible asset to the region, and we have a responsibility to support veterans with job, health, and education resources as they transition into our communities.

Watch the video below to hear veterans including Navy Chief Petty Officer John Johnson and Navy Commander Katie Thurman discuss the issue, my background, and the need for us to take action.
