WHY AM I RUNNING ? Our State is facing significant challenges – challenges that need leaders who are willing to develop a long-term vision and build the bi-partisan support to carry it out. Furthermore, we have to do so within our current funding. During my service on the Puyallup School Board, I helped to restore financial stability, increased student achievement, rigor and opportunity. However, decisions directly affecting our students are increasingly being made in Olympia. Our students and families need a strong voice representing us – a voice with experience and expertise on education issues. We are spending more money on transportation than ever, but we are seeing little relief from congestion. We need to focus on projects that reduce congestion and improve traffic flow – and not just in King County...in our district. Our healthcare costs are skyrocketing and access is declining. We need to reverse both of these trends while improving quality care.
WHY I WILL WIN ! My community service has given me a deep understanding of the issues facing our community and State. From the School Board to the Good Samaritan Hospital Board, from the Mel-Korum YMCA Council to Young Life, from Tacoma Goodwill to Our Savior Lutheran Church – each has given me the chance to learn about and serve our community. We have the right strategy and are working harder than anyone running against us. We will have more contributions from individuals – not special interests - and doorbell more voters than our opponent. Our community deserves nothing less!
